PostHog alternative: see why visitors leave your website

PostHog’s home page lists product analytics, web analytics, replays (session replay), error tracking, feature flags, experiments, surveys and a data warehouse in one product.[1] Convertlyft does a narrower job for one website: paste one line, and every visit is recorded, your main funnel is set up for you, and each Monday you get what to change.

When PostHog is the better choice

Stay with PostHog if you measure a mobile app as well as a website: its replay page (session replay) lists Android, iOS, Flutter and React Native.[3] If your team ships with feature flags and experiments, or wants surveys and a data warehouse in the same product, its home page names them all.[1] And if you must host your analytics yourself, its docs offer a self-hosted deployment.[4] Convertlyft reads one website and has no feature flags or surveys.

And if your team already sends the events it needs and the reports you read today answer your questions, moving costs you time for little gain. Convertlyft does a narrower job: one website, read daily, with what to change.

Trying it, in four steps

  1. Start free and give your site's address. We look at its homepage to see what it is built with, such as Shopify, WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Framer, Next.js or a tag manager, and show the steps for it. On WordPress you can install the Convertlyft plugin from WordPress.org instead: it adds the tag, and its one setting is your site key.
  2. Paste one line before </head>. You do not have to remove the PostHog code first, so you can compare the two for a while.
  3. On Home, press “on site now”: the people on your site now, refreshed every 10 seconds. That is the check that the line works.
  4. Your main funnel is set up for you from your site’s type. To count different steps, add your own funnel, up to 6 steps. Your first day is read the next morning and kept under Settings › Email updates; the Monday report follows on Monday.

Your own key is filled in after sign-up. Prefer not to touch code? Paste a paragraph into the AI tool that built your site, or send it to your developer.

Questions

Do I have to plan what to track before I start?

No. Paste one line, and your main funnel is set up for you from your site's type. To count different steps, add your own funnel, up to 6 steps.

Does Convertlyft record every visit?

Yes. Every visit is recorded on every plan, short ones too (up to a safety limit of 50,000 new recordings per site per day), and reports and funnels count every visit. A site can turn it down in Settings (Record every visit), and then only the visits that matter are recorded: an error, a rage or dead click, a form left, or a key page such as checkout or contact.

How long does Convertlyft keep recordings?

Replays are kept 90 days and what visitors did 24 months, on every plan. Typed values are always hidden, and email addresses, phone numbers and payment card numbers shown on the page are masked.

Does Convertlyft work for a mobile app?

No. Convertlyft reads one website per workspace, from a line of code on its pages.

What does Convertlyft cost?
