Microsoft Clarity alternative: from what people did to what to change

Microsoft Clarity is free, with no traffic limits, and records sessions and draws heatmaps.[1] Convertlyft covers that ground for one website and adds what turns a recording into a decision: funnels, grouped errors, Core Web Vitals from real visits, copy tests, and one named fix with the evidence behind it.

What Convertlyft does differently

It names the fix

At 06:00 UTC a digest compares yesterday with its own trailing week: what leaked, what lifted, new errors and slow pages. A quiet day says so instead of inventing a finding. Every Monday, What to do ranks findings from the last 7 complete days, each with a suggested fix where the rule has one.

Clicks tied to sales

Heatmaps rank elements by clicks, with how many of the people who clicked each one converted, once there are enough clicks to say. Compare two maps, or the two weeks before and after a change.

It can draft the change

For an error in your own code, Draft a fix writes a small change you read first. Only if you choose does it open as a draft pull request on GitHub, and a person on your side merges it.

Speed from real visits

Core Web Vitals per page, measured on real visits rather than lab tests, for the typical visitor, with the slowest pages listed.

Copy tests built in

Change a headline or other copy for the people you choose, or run it as a test: split visitors between versions, pick a goal, and read the result. A test stops itself if the split goes wrong.

SEO in the same place

Rank tracking, a site audit by our own crawler, competitors and backlinks. The free SEO audit reads up to 16 of your pages with no account.

When Microsoft Clarity is the better choice

Stay with Clarity if cost is the deciding factor: Microsoft says it is free forever, with no traffic limits and no upgrade to a paid version.[1] It is also the choice if you need recordings from mobile apps: it offers an SDK for Android, iOS, Flutter and React Native.[2] Convertlyft reads one website per workspace.

If replays and heatmaps already answer your questions, and you do not need funnels, error issues, copy tests or a daily named fix, keep what works. Convertlyft is worth it when you want the next change named, not another recording to watch.

Moving over, in four steps

  1. Start free and give your site's address. We look at its homepage to see what it is built with, such as Shopify, WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Framer, Next.js or a tag manager, and show the steps for it.
  2. Paste one line before </head>. You do not have to remove the Clarity tag first, so you can compare the two for a while.
  3. Open Live: the people on your site now, refreshed every 5 seconds. That is the check that the line works.
  4. Set up your main funnel, up to 6 steps. The first digest is computed at 06:00 UTC the next day.
